Funny Business?
One of the joys of being in the political consulting business is the fact that you hear many rumors and a ton of speculation. Some of it turns out to be nothing at all, but every once in
a while you come across some information that is most intriguing.
Today is one of those days. Mike Easley and Ruffin Poole have faced extremely hot water over their shady campaign finances. The North Carolina Democratic Party has been labeled as corrupt. Many of those details became known because of the hard work and dedication of Kim Strach. Word on the street is that Kim Strach has been removed from further investigation. Prognosticators and pundits in Raleigh have stated that the scandal and happenings that brought down Easley and Poole go much deeper. Could it be that Strach was getting too close?
2010 is an important election cycle and it will be interesting to see if thee claims are true that Strach was removed because she was getting too close to uncovering the Democrats deep dark secret just in time for the Republicans to take control of the General Assembly.
Update: Kim Strach has been put back on the case. Apparently Cornerstone was not the only organization hearing these rumors. We have heard that calls placed to the Board of Elections by the mainstream media were enough to motivate the Board of Elections to put accountability over politics. We will keep you posted on any news with regards to this story.
