Challenge: Polk County is one of Florida’s fastest growing areas. Known for its high quality of life and strong agricultural industry, Polk County is one of Florida’s fastest growing counties.
That’s why a group of local community leaders, businesses trade and agriculture groups came together to support a series of charter amendments placed on the ballot in the fall of 2008. The proposed changes would help protect the Polk County Charter, update election rules and save taxpayers from having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on costly special elections.
Solution: Polk Citizens for Good Government asked Cornerstone Solutions to raise public awareness about the ballot initiatives. Our firm provided strategic counsel, created a campaign and helped the organization educate and mobilize voters across the county to support all three charter amendments. Our services included:
